Hey everyone!
Yes, this is another site about video games. Hopefully, I can bring a somewhat unique viewpoint to the topic since I’m not a teenager and I have kids of my own who play video games. A little timeline of my gameplay experience:
Too little to know better – We had a Pong system. I’ll have to dig it out next time I visit my parents and get some pictures.
Christmas 1981 – My dad, much to my mother’s chagrin, purchased an Atari 2600. I was a bit young at the time, but I still remember playing Defender, Combat, and yes, ET.
Christmas 1986 – The NES! At this point, I was old enough to hold my own in Super Mario. I had a subscription to Nintendo Power. My friends and I talked Nintendo during recess and started early on game trading. Final Fantasy. Zelda 1 and 2. Mario, Mario and Mario.
Christmas 1991 – The SNES! More Mario, more Zelda.
~1992 – My start in PC gaming… Catacomb 3D, Wolfenstein. DOOM. Duke Nukem. Quake, Unreal Tournament. I remember lugging my self-built 486 around to my friend’s houses to play multiplayer Doom. Does anyone remember ZZT?
~2002 – The GameCube. Okay, well… Animal Crossing, Pikmin, Resident Evil 4. Hey, it was still a great system, unfortunately overshadowed by the PS2, but that’s okay. I actually played Ocarina of Time for the first time on the GameCube since I skipped the N64.
Now – Wii, 360, PS3, PC.
Since this is a new site, there is still a lot that needs to be decided, but there is no rush! I’ll be gaming for the foreseeable future, probably until the zombie apocalypse when the power goes out…
I’m currently on my phone and i couldn’t see a comment box for your actual blogs but just wanted to say that black ops cartoon was hilarious!I stopped playing lue of DCUO but oh man it would stress me out to no end!I think 2nd would actually be the ACBH multiplaying!I couldn’t walk like 2 steps without being stabbed.I am actually downloading that damn 1.04 patch rt now!Uh.Take forever!Anyway looking forward to reading some more of your stuff!
Yeah, I’ve finally come to grips with the fact that I’ll never be a pro-gamer!
